Lifelong 25th Ward resident and daughter of Mexican immigrants, Aida Flores supported the "Ponte Tus Moños" block party on 18th Street to help local organizers raise funds for queer-immigrant families.

On June 14, 2026, local barbers on 18th Street hosted "Ponte Tus Moños," a family-friendly pride event to raise funds and support for queer-immigrant organizations in Pilsen.

Pilsen's art and murals are rooted in the stories of Mexican immigrants and queer artists, and this event did both. It brought the community together to celebrate, organize, and raise money for people who need it. Aida Flores and her team supported the event by providing the bouncy house and temporary tattoos, bringing back an intergenerational feel to the block and giving families a safe space while organizers focused on mutual aid and fundraising.
