25th Ward Alderwoman candidate Aida Flores joined veterans and neighbors at Cermak and Hoyne to honor the local American Legion post that continues to serve the community.

On the corner of Cermak and Hoyne, there is a new name on the pole: Honorary American Legion Dorman-Dunn Post 547 Way.

It is a permanent marker for the neighbors who served, came home to the 25th Ward, and never stopped serving. Post 547 has been a steady cornerstone of support and daily advocacy for veterans. They make sure the people who sacrificed for this country are seen, respected, and cared for right here on their own blocks.

Aida joined the community to celebrate the unveiling and share a table with the members of the post. Honoring their work is about acknowledging the exact kind of lifelong, quiet dedication that keeps a neighborhood strong.
